Earlier in the week we revealed the plans being put forward for the redevelopment of the Showpark in East Kilbride for the proposed ground share between EK Thistle and Clyde FC at Showpark. Today we got the nod to share these images with you.
Though the images are a little grainy (it was on a camera phone in poor light), we’ve put the outlines through photoshop to give you a basic idea of how the new layout, with 500-seater covered stand and club facilities, will look.
I’ve also laid them over the current Showpark grounds from Google Maps to give you a better idea of how things will look.
Bear in mind these are the architect’s initial plans which are being put forward for planning permission, and can be subject to change. However this proposed layout is the best use of space at Showpark and allows for the full-size 3G pitch, two smaller 7′s pitches for the youth teams and a grass pitch on the current site of the showground.
