As revealed exclusively on OnlyAnExcuse.com a couple of weeks back, East Kilbride Thistle’s plans to redevelop their Showpark ground have been drawn up with a view to creating a new, state-of-the-art community stadium which will also be the potential new home of Clyde F.C. who are looking to move away from Broadwood.

As you can see, we have a far clearer image from DTA Chartered Architects and the same picture can be downloaded at the petition link below in a larger size.
Residents of East Kilbride, fans of EK Thistle and Clyde F.C. are asked to show their support for the project, and the clubs have set up an online petition as part of the planning consultation process.
Even if you don’t support either club or live in the area but are a football fan, we’d highly recommend you take a moment to sign this petition to redevelop the Showpark. A redeveloped showpark would offer two dedicated 7-a-side pitches for youth sides, and two full sized pitches – one grass and one 3G – along with changing facilities, club offices and a 500-1000 seat stand.
The new facilities would offer substantial benefits to young footballers in East Kilbride and of course by bringing a Scottish Football League club to the town can only benefit local businesses and bring Clyde F.C. closer to their spiritual home of Rutherglen.
